Ta Keo

Ta Keo is a huge multi-tiered temple-mountain located just East of the walls of Angkor Thom. The Hindu temple was constructed under the reign of king Jayavarman V in the late 10th to early 11th century, and is known as 'the mountain with the golden peaks' due to the rising towers located on the higher tiers. Ta Keo is constructed mainly

of sandstone blocks, and was actually constructed during the reign of two other kings as well, (Jayaviravarman and Suryavarman I) due to the ongoing work of this temple. Similar to the temple Pre Rup, Ta Keo consists of five towers consisting of overlapping terraces surrounded by a moat. You can visit this site at any time of the day and can spend usually around 20 minutes here.
