Thom. It served as the state temple for the king, although many people believe it was used as a funerary temple. The brick and sandstone structure consists of a large tiered pyramid-like base, with several mountain-towers jutting out from the upper tiers. Pre Rup is littered in beautiful carvings and shrines forming a gallery, and is enclosed by several 100+m laterite walls. Pre Rup remains one of the biggest and most amazing sites in the AAP, and is highly recommended for travellers and photographers to visit. You could easily spend several hours here, and is best to do so in good light.
